We are on a mission to radiate positive energy and motivation by creating the word "Philthy", a new lifestyle.

The Brands We Use:
Printful sources products and fabrics from ethical brands and suppliers that comply to labor, environmental, and safety standards. To learn more about the brands we work with, click on their buttons below:Bella + CanvasGildanAlternativeNext LevelHanesAugusta SportswearFlexfit YupoongBaysideChampion
The better the quality, the longer the product lasts. Before Printful adds new products, they do durability, wash, and wear tests to make sure they’ll stand the test of time. Producing long-lasting products means reducing new purchases. We work with suppliers that produce high-quality products that last many washes, keeping print colors vibrant and the fabric soft.
A significant part of our products are printed with the direct-to-garment (DTG) technique. With DTG, ink is sprayed onto the garment, which helps it soak better into the fabric and makes the print less prone to fading. To learn more about the difference between DTG and other printing methods, take a look at this article.
For their DTG prints, they use Kornit machines and inks. Kornit uses high-quality, water-based vegan inks that they formulate, test, and produce in their own factories. Kornit inks are non-hazardous, toxin-free, biodegradable, and certified with an OEKO-TEX Eco Passport. For our all-over print products they use Mimaki printers—their inks are also certified with the OEKO-TEX Eco Passport.
Made To Order
All purchases, big or small, have a footprint. Each of us are faced with a choice with every purchase. You choose the size of the mark to leave on the planet, and we want to help you choose wisely.
Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage. One in every five garments reaches a landfill without being worn even once. By choosing Philthy Authority, you choose apparel that's created only as the order is placed, creating less fabric waste than conventional manufacturing.
One of the main ways they’re reducing waste is by improving their packaging, starting with two of their most popular categories: DTG and posters.
They used to wrap our DTG single-product orders in an additional plastic mailer. Now, they use only one poly mailer bag to package them.
For posters, they started using triangular boxes to replace tubes with plastic end caps.
They're also experimenting with using cardboard packaging for phone cases, switching over from plastic to paper tape for securing boxes, as well as exploring environmentally friendly void filler options for box shipments to boost our sustainability measures at Philthy Authority.
To take care of fabric waste in their Mexico and Charlotte facilities, they’ve partnered with waste management services, such as Geocycle and Martex.
In total, they’ve sent 155,999 lb (70,760 kg) of fabric waste to recycling. But to reduce waste from being produced in the first place, last year they optimized all-over print product layouts. Previously, all-over-print products generated 42% leftover fabric, but last year they lowered it to 35%. They hope to reduce this even more.
Around 78% of Printful orders are delivered in the same region they’re fulfilled. Having fulfillment centers close to our customers is good for the planet. Strategically located fulfillment centers allow for faster shipping times and lower shipping costs, and it also helps with reducing the CO₂ emissions produced when transporting orders. Here's a map of all the current Printful fulfillment facilities:
By making these changes, they’ve saved more than 48,786 lbs (22,129 kgs) of plastic since February 2020. They also donate damaged and returned products to local charities, like the Red Cross, the American Kidney Fund, and Goodwill.
Philthy Authority has always been conscious of our environmental impact and actively works to lighten our carbon footprint. We believe that if we all work together towards positive change, we can make the world a cleaner, healthier place. As Philthy Authority continues to grow, we have an increasing responsibility to commit additional resources toward our values in order to maximize the positive impact of our products. We are all about saving our environment and want to contribute in any way that we can.
Philthy Authority's Impact Visualized
Philthy Authority has so far offset 3 tonnes of CO2e which is equivalent to one of the following:
We started reducing our carbon footprint by partnering with our friends at EcoCart. They make it possible for our customers to reduce the carbon emissions produced by shipping. Dane Baker started EcoCart in June of 2020 and has already made such a huge impact. EcoCart leads many different projects that aid in forest protection and management, water purification, composting, fuel efficient cookstoves, solar cookers, wind farms and hydro electric power. In May of 2021, we began our mission to replant a forest with Ecologi. Now every time you buy your favorite Philthy Authority apparel, you'll also be planting 10 trees in our forest. Their mission is to remove 50% of CO2 emissions by 2040 and responsibly plant billions of trees every year. We want to help them with this mission as much as we can. Our first goal is to plant 1 million trees by the end of 2021. Of course, we can't do this without your help.
We partnered with Ecologi in hopes that we can make a massive difference on the health of our planet by planting a forest. Ecologi will plant 10 trees every time you order your awesome Philthy apparel. Trees are an essential part of restoring our planet's ecosystem. Since we started working with Ecologi, we have already planted 150 trees. But that is not nearly enough, we need your help planting 1 million trees by the end of 2021. In one year, an acre of mature trees absorbs the amount of CO2 produced by a car driven 26,000 miles.
One of the best ways to prevent the planet from rising above 1.5C (34.7F) is to plant trees. Trees lower surface and air temperatures by providing shade. Shaded surfaces may be 20–45°F cooler than the peak temperatures of unshaded materials. Philthy Authority is in love with trees and recognizes that planting trees benefits us and the environment in many ways. If you want to learn more about how planting more trees can help save the planet click here.
Ecologi's tree planting partner is The Eden Reforestation Projects, who plant millions of trees around the world each month. Philthy Authority is currently supporting their amazing work in Madagascar. Eden also employs locals from impoverished communities to help plant trees across the world. So far, Eden has planted 583,540,320 trees in 8 countries while also creating 5,835,403 workdays for people.
Where Are Our Trees?
At Philthy Authority we invest our money into projects that remove more greenhouse gases than our own carbon footprint puts in. We are working towards supporting a range of carbon reduction projects each month. Working with Ecologi enables us to support many different projects. So far we have offset 3 tonnes of CO2e by funding projects like turning waste biogas into electricity in Thailand and providing fuel efficient cookstoves in Honduras.
The climate crisis is massive, complicated, and overwhelming, so it’s often hard to know what we can do about our carbon footprint. We are spreading awareness about how anyone and everyone can make a difference. Philthy Authority is taking a stand and doing something about it.
We’re partnering with EcoCart to empower the Philthy Authority community to make their orders 100% carbon neutral. For each of our amazing items that is shipped, you can now offset the specific carbon footprint with a positive environmental impact! So now you’ll know when a Philthy Authority package arrives at your door, you’ll get something you love and you’ll be proud of the fact that you’re taking a small step towards making a big change in the world.
The Defining Issue of our Time
Being human means releasing planet-warming carbon emissions into the atmosphere. It happens when we take a shower, charge our phones, or driving to work. Just like humans release carbon pollution, so do businesses - and Philthy Authority is no exception! Everyday in the U.S. alone, ecommerce packages travel about the same distance as going to the moon and back ...133,000 times. And it’s not just getting your order to your doorstep we have to worry about - our entire supply chain carries a hefty carbon footprint. Scouring the globe for the perfect materials and transforming them into the Philthy Authority products you know and love means tons (literally) of planet-warming carbon pollution.
We’re on a Mission
As Philthy Authority continues to grow, we have an increasing responsibility to commit additional resources toward our values in order to maximize the positive impact of our products. At Philthy Authority, we have long held the conviction that we can be both a great business and a great corporate citizen. In fact, we believe we cannot be one without the other. Corporate social responsibility is cemented in Philthy Authority’s DNA because our people believe deeply in making the world a better place.
It means that for any carbon emissions released into our atmosphere as a result of manufacturing and shipping items at Philthy Authority, we invest in projects that reduce carbon emissions by the same amount. It’s almost like we’re giving the planet an IOU, then immediately paying it back.
Just The Beginning
At Philthy Authority, we are committed to slowing the effects of climate change, one order at a time. Carbon offsets are a starting point—an immediate way to reduce our impact. Even though this is a moment to celebrate, we think that it’d be even better if we didn’t emit any carbon in the first place. To achieve this, we’re working to develop projects in our own supply chain that will reduce our emissions directly.
The Power of Us
Our work isn’t done for another important reason. No matter how much progress we continue to make on our own footprint, Philthy Authority’s footprint is actually quite small. The effects of climate change are magnified far beyond Philthy Authority itself. The only way we can truly begin to reverse the effects of climate change are if everyone does their part.
What can you do?
- First, focus on the energy efficiency of your home. Efficiency is also the easiest way to save money. Program your thermostat. Check in with your own utility and see if they offer rebates on LED light bulbs, efficient appliances, upgraded insulation or other cost-effective upgrades like efficient water fixtures. Ask your utility if they offer a home energy audit.
- If you own a house, installing solar might make financial sense for you. In some cases, you can install solar with no upfront cost while lowering your energy bill each month. In a few areas, you can buy into a community solar array that isn’t even on your property. If solar doesn’t work for your house or you live in an apartment or condo, ask your utility company if they offer a residential green power program. Many do with simple, reasonable terms.
- Find brands with legitimate sustainability initiatives. Whether it’s with carbon neutral products, a sustainable supply chain, recycled materials, or eco-friendly packaging, we should all do our best to limit the carbon footprint of the products we buy.
- Challenge yourself to drive less and bike more. Riding your bike forces you to utilize your own muscle power. You’ll get a workout all while helping the environment. Plus, it requires much less energy to produce a bike than it does to manufacture a car. If you can’t bike to work for whatever reason, take public transportation. It puts less cars on the road, which reduces the amount of exhaust filling the air at once.
- Choose reusable bottles, bags, and anything else that you usually use once then throw away. If that’s not an option, make sure to properly recycle any plastic, paper, glass or metal that comes into your life.
